Banana Tree, Angel

It’s not everyday we can get all us girls in one place at one time, but one chilly January weekend, when tube works can’t help to slow down your journey we all met for lunch at Banana Tree in Angel.

I had never heard this little wonder before, but there are 7 restaurants in London and they are expanding a little outside too. They serve fresh, healthy delicious indo-chinese cuisine.

There are long tables to accommodate large groups, but don’t worry if you are after a more intimate setting, they can separate them into twos and fours – so no need for sitting elbow to elbow with strangers.

The service is quick and they even have a cuddly toy orang-u-tan watching over the diners reminding you that 25p of certain meals is going to save these fury friends.

We placed our orders and caught up on each others lives and the girls gave me a little Birthday present.

When you see a bag like this you can’t help but grin like a Cheshire cat!

The food soon came and I popped My Burberry perfume out of the way.

I went for the BananaTree Laksa curry a Malaysian dish. One of the BananaTrees chefs specialities, the perfect balance of heat from the chillies and sweet creaminess from the coconut milk. Filled with lots of veggie goodness you can opt for tofu, chicken or prawn to be tossed into the mix. I have rarely been defeated by a meal, but this was one of those occasions. And for £8.50 this wapping portion is nothing to complain about!

I sneaked a bit of J’s Crispy chicken with mango and sweet lime. So yummy!

Plus, you know you’ve found a keeper when the salads look like meals rather than side plates!

Find your nearest restaurant here, to experience their fresh zingy flavours!
