Recipe | Hot Chocolate a la Chocolat

Any bleak wintery day is improved 110% by this indulgent treat.

I personally want to bathe in the hot chocolate that Vianne makes for Armande.
So instead of dreaming about it, I made it and I’m going to share this hot and spicey little recipe with you.

Ingredients:
150g dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
100ml cream – for those that would prefer dairy free use coconut cream to get the right consistency
Hot water – amount varies on the thickness you prefer
Spices to taste (read on for further details)

Make a ban marine by placing a bowl over a saucepan half filled with water – make sure the bowl does not touch the water.

Put in a splash of the cream and your chocolate and allow to melt, stirring occasionally.

Once the chocolate is melted fold in the rest of the cream.

If you like it thick, delicious and glossy, decante into your favourite mug and if you want to be even naughtier put a dollop of freshly whipped cream on top.

I prefer it a little less indulgent mixing in approx. 200ml hot water, a dash of chilli powder and cinnamon and you’re practically following the north wind into Flavigny-sur-Ozerain.

Leave me a little comment...
