Meat Free Week is a great concept to raise our awareness of how much we eat, animal welfare and the effects on our health.
Being completely honest mine hadn’t started well. Starting the week with a meal out with the girls giggling and catching up over burgers, ribs and fries.
However I do like to make one thing clear the food was ethically sourced and kept in good welfare standards – which must count for something!
One thing I’ve heard often is meat of high welfare standards is too expensive. But why don’t you just cut down your intake? High consumption of red meat can have a negative effect on your own health.
If you want to join in or want more information on the implications of eating meat on your own health and animal welfare the meat free week website is really informative.
Also there are some great ways for vegetarians to get involved too so click here and find out more.
